About her work Nan says," My paintings are all about the process. The choice of subject matter is always something that sparks an interest. Generally ordinary everyday things that I see something in. The shape of a flower against a shadowed wall, the patterning of an oriental rug, the gesture of a horse or dog. I paint from life and respond to the subject , trying to show the viewer what I see and feel. Mainly though my paintings are about paint!!"
